A robust Aleppian dip of roasted red peppers, walnuts, breadcrumbs, and spices, served as a meze with bread or vegetables.

Ingredients

  • 3 large roasted red peppers
  • 1 cup walnuts
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons pomegranate molasses
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

Instructions

    Drain the roasted peppers well and pat dry.

    Blend the peppers, walnuts, bread crumbs, pomegranate molasses, olive oil, cumin, paprika, garlic, and salt.

    Pulse until thick and slightly textured rather than completely smooth.

    Taste and adjust sweetness, acidity, or salt as needed.

    Serve at room temperature with pita or crudités.

Kosher notes

Pareve and suitable for either meat or dairy meals if made with pareve breadcrumbs.
